Born in Milan in 1994, I started playing the guitar in high school. After a brief detour into university and a couple of jobs as a carpenter, I enrolled at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria, completing the 4-year program to earn my diploma. There, under the guidance of great Italian master luthiers, I studied the construction of various instruments, including classical guitars, Renaissance lutes, and Neapolitan mandolins. During my school years, I happened to attend a Gypsy-Jazz concert and immediately fell in love with these instruments, starting to build a few of them while still completing my studies. I visited the MuPop in Montluçon, home to some of the original machinery used to construct Selmer guitars, which the museum staff allowed me to inspect and measure. Following that experience, I began focusing on individual building processes, particularly regarding the soundbox. Drawing inspiration from historical 19th and 20th-century mandolin makers, I defined my own highly personal construction process, combining it with the precision of CNC machining for the necks and fingerboards. Meanwhile, I continue to collaborate and exchange ideas with other luthiers, from whom I have learned—and continue to learn—so much.
